Accountability

Editorial independence

How Corpus Files uses expertise without outsourcing its responsibility for the work.

Corpus Files does not imply endorsements or present a standing advisory board it does not have. The publication remains accountable for every claim, source choice, verdict, and correction that appears under its name.

Editorial decisions stay in-house

Corpus Files is responsible for its own sourcing, framing, verdicts, and corrections. No institution, subject, reader-support payer, or source receives editorial control.

Expertise is tied to the claim

Medical, historical, scientific, theological, and legal questions are judged against relevant primary, official, or scholarly sources. Any outside contribution used in a file should be identified there.

Citation is not endorsement

Quoting a scholar, diocese, laboratory, archive, or critic does not imply that person or institution endorses Corpus Files or its verdict.

Uncertainty remains visible

When a translation, date, identity, method, or source still needs human verification, the affected detail is highlighted in yellow instead of being presented as settled.
